LazySaxs Rules (If you decide to read them)

SimpleSax

SET UP

a. Place the 2 LazySaxS 3 to 4 strides apart.

b. Set one chair behind each Lazy SaxS.

c. Set nub to the far side of the opponent.

RULES

1. Only 4 sacks are utilized for Simple SaxS.

2. First player tosses all 4 sacks from their seated position then totals their score based on The Point Diagram.

NOTE: If sack lands in an unreachable distance for opponent to pick up without getting out of chair, 1 point is deducted from their score; unless you apply the TOODLING RULE (see Point Chart)

3. Game is played to 15; however, you must win by 2.

The Point Chart

Points per Sack Location
1 ON PLATE AND OR HANGING OFF EDGE OF PLATE
2 ON EDGE OF FUNNEL
3 IN FUNNEL
Auto Win ON NUB – If sack lands and hangs on the Nub of the funnel it is an automatic win and the game stops immediately.
-1 If sack lands out of reach for opponent to pick up without getting out of chair (See TOODLING RULE).
Auto Loss If sacks land out of reach of opponent and you already reached 15 points on a previous throw.
TOODLING RULE: You may recruit a surrounding person to provide the unreachable sack to your opponent. No negative point will be assessed if you are able to do this (kids come in handy here).
NOTE: If LazySaxs or Auto Win Nub move or rotate during play do not re-adjust until your next turn.

Classic Competition Saxs (2 Players)

SETUP

a. Place the 2 LazySaxs 3 to 4 strides apart (8ft is the “OFFICIAL” regulation distance).

b. Set one chair behind each LazySaxs. A low beach chair is recommended.

c. Set nub to the far side of the opponent.

RULES

1. Only 4 sacks are utilized for Classic SaxS.

2. Player who’s birthday is closest to August 24th is player 1 and first to throw (tie goes to whoever you want).

3. First player tosses all 4 sacks from their seated position then totals their score based on The Point Chart.

4. Game is played exactly to 15 points. If you go over 15 your points are deducted from your original score based on The Point Chart (Example: If a player has 14 and lands in the funnel that player would loss 3 points from their score, so their new score would be 11).

5. If Player 1 scores 15 points player 2 still has an opportunity to throw and tie the game. If player 2 ties the game they still need to throw their remaining sacks and not go over or under 15. Once Player 2 throws their remaining sacks the game now goes back to Player 1 to continue until a player wins by two points.

Team Classic Competition Saxs (4 Players)

SET UP

a. Place the LazySaxS 3 to 4 strides apart (8ft is “OFFICIAL” regulation distance).

b. Set two chairs next to each other about 2 feet apart slightly behind each Lazy SaxS. Again, a low beach chair is recommended.

c. Set nub to the far side of the opponents.

RULES

1. Players are divided into 2 teams with each team member sitting across from there teammate.

2. One player from each team takes 2 sacks each.

3. The team who has the player who went to bed the latest the night before is the team who throws first (tie goes to whoever woke up the earliest that day).

4. Game starts out with all sacks on one side. After the first player throws the first sack, you alternate with the other team on the same side until all sacks are thrown. The points are then totaled based upon The Point Chart.

5. Game is played to EXACTLY 15 based on The Point Chart.

6. Teams must throw all sacks even if they achieve the score of 15.

7. If a team exceeds 15, the points are deducted from the original score based on The Point Chart, (Example: If a team has 14 and lands in the funnel that team would lose 3 points from their score, so the team’s new score would be 11).

8. If sack lands in an unreachable distance for your team member to pick up without getting out of chair 1 point is deducted from their score; unless you apply the TOODLING RULE.

NOTE: For 4 Players Team Classic SaxS if the sack lands under the opponents chair the opponent is obligated to retrieve the sack for the opposing team with no point deduction.

9. If Team 1 scores 15 points team 2 still has an opportunity to throw and tie the game. If team 2 ties the game they still need to throw their remaining sacks and not go over or under 15. The game now goes back to team1 to continue until a team wins by 2 points.

10. If a team achieves 15 points and still has remaining sacks to throw, they must throw those remaining sacks within a reachable distance for their team member to pick up without getting out of their chair or the team throwing the sacks automatically loses the game. It is very important to note that NO TOODLING RULE can be leveraged when the team achieves 15 and the opposing team does not have to retrieve the sack if it lands under their chair.

11. When a team lands on the Nub it is an automatic win and the game stops immediately. No further tosses are allowed. (Note: Feel free to make it an automatic loss if a team is annoyingly good at landing it on the Nub).

Circle SaxS (3 to 4 Players)

SETUP

a. Place one LazySaxS in an open area.

b. Set three or four chairs surrounding the LazySaxS approximately 2 to 3 strides away from the center of the Lazy SaxS (6 ft is “OFFICIAL” regulation distance). For the last time, a low beach chair is recommended.

c. Player who’s birthday is closest to September 8th can place the Auto Win Nub in any direction they choose.

RULES

1. Each player receives 2 sacks (additional sacks required – Not Included)

2. Player who’s birthday is closest to September 8th is player 1, first to throw (tie goes to whoever is shorter).

3. First player tosses one sack from their seated position, the turn moves clockwise until all sacks are thrown. The points are totaled based on The Point Chart, ignoring the 1 point reduction rule and the auto loss rule. The player with the lowest score of that round is responsible for collecting the sacks and redistributing them. In the event of a tie the last player to throw (of the players that tied with the lowest score) collects and redistributes the sacks.

4. Each round the first player to throw changes to the player sitting clockwise to the player who threw first in the previous round.

5. Game is played to 15 based on The Point Chart; however, there is no deduction for going over and a player must win by 2 points.

6. When a player lands on the Auto Win Nub, it is an automatic win and the game stops immediately.

NOTE: It is not advised but feel free to play all of the above games while standing, just eliminate all the fun rules like auto lose, point deduction and the TOODLING RULE
